MY GAMES

THE MECHANICAL PENCIL TERRORIST

Set inside a game designers bad game, you play as a playtester given the task to help fix this really bad game  and make it actually feel good. Inspired by the works of William Pugh, join the designer of TMPT as he realises its not that hard to add little things to make his game actually half decent.

I championed the design for TMPT. This was one of the most rewarding games I got to work on. I loved designing a game that was really about breaking the forth wall between the game, the game within the game, and how the puzzles dance between the two.

MR CROSSY

Current WIP / Coming to Steam

First Person Horror Crossword What?!

It’s a bit different, I know, but a really easily digestible concept. So the way it works is that each word is a street, each letter is a house, and inside each house is an altar. By placing objects on the altar, the player is essentially spelling, as the first letter of that object is what is contributed to the word of the street.

I championed the design for Mr Crossy, leading a team of 12 to cover and implement the games vision.

EN-ROUTE

Teaching and learning via humour

A first person survival shooter with roguelike elements called En Route, akin to the likes of Faster than Light meets Days Gone.

Traveling around a randomised map you must scavenge around for junk, fuel and food in order to reach your colony. Each map has variations of time of day which determine their enemies and encounter types. The economy is completely random, and no two play-throughs are the same.

I was the systems, economy and level designer for En-Route. Working with another level designer, I set up the initial ground rules to help maintain consistency between the maps to ensure players had a seamless experience.
